What is a strategy process?

A strategy process is a structured and methodical approach where the company collects and processes knowledge that forms the foundation of the final strategy.

MakeMyStrategy™'s founder Sanne Markwall has many years of practical experience as a strategy manager, CEO, strategist and consultant and below are the topics that a strategy process should include based on many years of experience.

A sharp strategy process should include:

1. Overview of the company's current situation, including

- description and assessment of the external and internal conditions affecting the undertaking,

- an overview and prioritisation of the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats,

2. Strategic opt-outs ensuring focus, including concrete transformation of priority strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to change needs

3. Clear direction ensuring competitiveness and the foundations for growth, including

- vision

- mission

- values,

- SDGs,

4. Concrete action, including

- activity plans divided into 3-5 themes,

- time spent on activities and priorities,

- practical management tools,

- detailed strategic plan documenting the decisions to the 3rd man

5. Execution plan (which is a large independent task)

With MakeMyStrategy™ we completed the task faster and on our own.
