What is Minimum Viable Product (MVP)?

The concept of Minimum Viable Product became known way back in 2009, when Eric Ries (American entrepreneur, blogger and author) published the book "The Lean Startup".

The concept emphasizes the impact of learning new products – that is, a version of your product that makes it possible to collect validated learning from your customers. with the aim of developing the product. The reason is that it is much more valid to see what the customer actually does/has of wishes when they have actually bought your product than to simply ask them before the product is purchased.

The advantage is that you can understand your customers' interest in your product without developing the product fully in the first place. The sooner you can find out if your product appeals to customers, the less cost of a product that won't be successful in the market. Reversed, it also means that you can develop your product faster and better based on your customers' wishes and needs – that's customer-driven development.

The pitfall is that you offer a product that is so underdeveloped that there is no foundation available to assess the viability of the product.

Proper use of MVP means that a product can be developed in full accordance with customers' wishes and needs.

Put quite mundanely, it's about starting with skateboarding, then developing a bike, then the motorcycle at the end of the car.

It's rare that I stumble upon r.... a new tool, but I'm totally sold - it's simply brilliant
